If lean muscle is what you desire, then your objective when performing resistance exercise (lifting weights) should be to achieve a bigger pump each time you workout, or train.
The “pump” occurs when, over a period of sets, your muscles become engorged, or pumped, with blood. This phenomenon is termed reactive hyperemia by physiologists. Your body is essentially reacting to the stimulus of exercise by increasing blood flow (termed hyperemia) to the working muscles. The pump is a good sign.
Indeed, while the pump per se may not stimulate muscle growth, it’s thought that the bigger the pump, the more likely your muscles are to increase in size, or hypertrophy, in the days following your workout, provided you supply them with adequate protein and other nutrients.

Directions:
